We had been trying for six months to get my son to poop in the potty and nothing worked. We previously had the mommy's helper step up which had a nice seat but wobbly ladder. I removed the ladder and put the Potty Stool in front of the toilet and he loved it. He couldn't wait to get up on the toilet. Within three minutes he had pooped in the potty! I think he felt secure because of the large side arms attached to the step, and it's a very secure device. The step is also large enough that he has plenty of room to step up, pull down his pants and turn around to sit on the potty. Although this is expensive, it's well worth the cost. We wasted a lot of money on other potty equipment that didn't work.

The Potty Stool gave my 2 year old daughter the confidence she needed to get up and down off "the big potty" and help her become successful at toilet learning. Wow, completely amazing product! Our son just turned 2 and has been potty training for a couple weeks with a removable toilet seat and a small step stool. Needless to say, we were failing him miserably. We bought this stool to help him feel confident and boost his interest in going potty in the big potty.
I was hesitant to purchase at first because of the price but let me tell you, this is THE must have for potty training!! It is very, very sturdy, strattles the toilet very well, and is the perfect height and size for toddlers up to younger children to use. The 2 side handles come off with no problems so adults can use the toilet without removing the stool. Our son jumped right on it, used the handles, and sat right down to go "potty". He's been off and on it multiple times and feels very, very secure on this potty stool. HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend this product! His reaction to the sturdiness of the product was well worth the money. We plan on using this stool for years to come!

I wanted something I knew my child couldn't likely fall off of, would be substantial enough to keep using as the child got older, and could be moved to the sink for teeth brushing. This is pricey but the best option I could find. This is a strong, well made product- not flimsy like some potty stools. We love it. I think this is IDEAL for teaching little boys to urinate standing up. (It really should be cheaper though so I gave it 4 stars. I would think they could do this for around $50)

The Potty Stool is a wonderful stool. It is high enough for a young toddler to reach the toilet (though it could be just a bit higher for really young ones like 18mo) and the rails make toddlers feel *so* secure. They don't just feel secure, they really are secure.
I tried three other types of stools. They were all bad accidents just waiting to happen. I tried the Bjorn type stool (too small & short to work, too light to stay in place); the Mommie Cushie stepup (terribly unstable); and the KidKraft wooden step stool with lid (sturdy, tall enough, heavy enough to stay in place, but might slip on tile, might be slippery when wet, no rails). With the exception of the KidKraft, I wasted my money on everything.
This stool is worth every penny when compared to safety issues of all the other stools. It is utterly safe, sturdy, and reassuring to toddlers. The rails come off easily for cleaning, and the stool can be moved easily just by squeezing the two rails together and picking it up. A great product.
